Having schooled at the premier Boarding House, The Lawrence School Sanawar, Shimla Hills, Brig Kapoor graduated with an Honours degree in Economics from the prestigious Shriram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi University. Placed for a vocation in the corporate in the final year, whilst, still at the fledgling stage, he decided to pursue the family tradition of three generations, in service of the Nation, when he joined the Indian Military Academy as a Gentleman Cadet and post training, was commissioned as an officer in the Indian Cavalry. The tour of duty tempered him with transfers to distant lands and dominions. The Service had him experience 35 years in Leadership, Management & Administrative positions with close to 15 years in Executive assignments and 10 years in Policy Formulation, Strategising, Training & Defence Procurement, dealing extensively with the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Finance. Five years were dedicated to Training, Process Re- engineering & Appraisals at the highest levels. With having inducted high value Military Equipment both from within and outside the country, the art of negotiation, outlays, offsets, resource management, and life cycle adornment was matured. This also afforded adequate International exposure to represent the country. When the opportunity to head a Training Institution manifested, all facets of Human Resource Management from womb to tomb, Leadership and faculty training in all its manifestation were exercised. MPhil in Defence and Strategic Studies, and active membership of the National Think Tanks, had him often analyze India’s place in the evolving world order with Power Play Dynamics and Power Transition Theories being put to test. No one defining moment would possibly dictate the emerging World Order. The instruments at the altar of State Policy, pitched appropriately, synergized with tempered State Craft and balanced perspective could seamlessly transit India to the place it vies for. Accolades and recognition through Honours and Awards were bestowed for distinguished service of exceptional order, passion to service and apportioning value to the assignments undertaken. Post the share of rounded exposure and enriching experiences, which were soul altering and humbling, and after having completed his terms of engagement, he is busy transcending this enabling and rich experience outside the precincts of the service bastion.
